How to avoid being deceived by online business fraud

How to avoid being deceived by online business fraud

Hello, hello. Fujii: Takashi. The theme of this time is "How not to be scammed". In other words, I will explain how not to be deceived by suspicious stories.

So-called online business fraud, investment fraud, and other fraud are full on the Internet. Everyone has the risk of being scammed.

Especially in this day and age, fraud schemes are cleverly created, and even wary people can be deceived. Since I was born, I have been a victim of fraud many times

Fraud damage I experienced

In my case, the first fraud damage I remember was in 2014.

Do you know about binary options? Binary options themselves are not a scam. It's an investment.

There are two types of binary options, overseas and domestic. Overseas binary options are characterized by "high risk and high return". It's no longer an investment, it's speculation.

I have had the experience of being deceived by this binary options vendor. One day, when I accessed the site of an overseas contractor,

"It's closed."

It was displayed. … Oh, I was deceived. You ran away at night. I guessed it as expected. The money in it was taken away as it was.

In addition, I have had the experience of being deceived by information products. It's embarrassing. A scam that is too blatant that says, "Anyone can make money easily."

Profit stories from clients

After starting the business, business partners sometimes brought in scams and profit stories.

"I know this kind of profit," a person who makes a business proposal. When I listen to stories, they talk about scams and gray areas.

There have been times when I actually tried to get on it and failed.

Experience of being scammed on an overseas site

I will tell you another experience. There is a site called JVZOO. It is an English-speaking market that deals with so-called information products.

"Collect 1 million website visits in one day", or if it's a blatant example, "the strongest tool to transfer money to your bank account just by sleeping".

Overseas, this kind of service is blatant.

By the way, JVZOO is still there. I have been cheated of hundreds of dollars.

It's embarrassing, but I've been deceived not only in Japan but also abroad in the past

The need to have an eye for fraud

If you are being deceived from various angles, you can determine whether it is a scam with a certain degree of accuracy.

In fact, it's troublesome, but when your business develops and you get involved with other businesses, you will come up with various profit stories. There are cases where fraudulent money-making stories are brought without malice.

That's why you have to tell the difference.

In the first place, we will talk about what fraud is. Many people think that fraud = information products or online salons.

It's not a scam because it's information

I don't think it's a scam because it's an information product, and I don't think it's a scam because I don't know the actual situation. The reality is vague.

For example, Louis Vuitton bags. I can't say too strongly because some of my business partners like Louis Vuitton, but the amount of hundreds of thousands of yen for a vinyl chloride bag is strange. Still, there is a mystery that it sells.

Moreover, it is not called a scam.

To talk about familiarity, let's say you buy bottled water at a convenience store. 1 bottle is 140 yen.

It's expensive if you think of it as water. And if you drink it, it will disappear. The reality will disappear.

But it's not called a rip-off for water. In the past, it was said that taking 800 yen for a glass of water at a certain restaurant was a "rip-off"...

In other words, you are free to set prices.

So what is a scam? I interpret it as "not keeping a promise".

Fraud is "breaking promises"

This is just my opinion. Fraud is "wrong promise". This is a vague definition, but after thinking about it, I settled on this interpretation. McDonald's burgers are bad for you. But there are those who are willing to pay. Even if you know it's bad for your health, you pay because you want to eat it. That's fine.

When McDonald's is a scam, it doesn't serve the promised burger. It is a scam for the product being too small, not containing ingredients, or intentionally not willing to keep promises rather than making mistakes.

The same goes for information products. I am a positive person for information products. Selling information is not a scam.

The reason why information products are a problem is also because they are making different promises.

"I can definitely make money."

It is called a scam because it is sold at a high price on the premise that there is no basis and the promise is not fulfilled.

In other words, the products I sell are also information products. Because they sell information as a package.

However, there are a certain number of people who are not satisfied, so we have a money-back guarantee for basic products. This is not only a guarantee to customers, but also a guarantee that you will not be called a fraud.

To sum it up, we judge whether it is a scam by "whether you keep your promise".

How to spot a scam

Next, I will talk about how to identify how not to be deceived by fraud.

(1) Look at past reputations

Identify whether it is a scam or not. At that time, I look at the company's past. Products, services, and past reputations that have been sold in the past.

Check if the seller has broken his promises in the past.

If you have committed fraud in the past, there are victims' voices on the Internet, saying, "This product was a scam."

(2) Look at the people involved

Or who you are involved with is also important.

Who is the person selling the product involved with, and where is he doing business with? This is also an important perspective.

Scammers hang out with scammers. Therefore, if such a shadow flickers around you, it is a red flag.

It is actually easier to understand not only the company or business, but also the relationship around it.

(3) Do you have a track record of activities?

President Minamihara, who was appearing in Money Tiger, said this on YouTube.

"Scammers don't survive more than 3 years"

I don't remember which time it was.

I really think that's right. Scammers are unstable. You can't make one business prosper for a long time. It is also important to look at the number of years of activity when looking at whether or not you are a fraudster.

How many years have you been involved in the business, how many years have you been competing in the industry? This is also one point of view.

Summary: Take measures to avoid being deceived by scams

This time, I talked about a slightly different coat color than usual.

Please be careful. Because the future is uncertain, there are people who take advantage of their weak hearts and anxieties to commit fraud.

In order not to be deceived by scams, please improve your internet literacy as well as be careful about rumors.

Also, if you have any stories you'd like to hear about scams or scams, write them in the comments below this blog post.

See you next time. Thank you very much.
