How to register for ShareASale and precautions for Japan to become an affiliate

What is ShareASale?

ShareASale is an ASP (Affiliate Service Provider) founded in 2000. It is based in Chicago, Illinois and operates to this day.

We handle a variety of products from all over the world, and if you are an overseas affiliate, you will probably register as well. Currently, more than 3,000 companies are offering products.

Since it is a fairly long-established ASP, the interface is outdated, and there is a part of usability that is "hmm". However, I have been using it myself since around 2019.

Because some products can only be affiliated with ShareASale.

How to register for ShareASale

Registration is required in English. It's easy, though.

• Create username: Decide on a username
• Create password: Decide on a password
• Confirm password: Enter the same password again
• Your Country

Usernames can only use the following characters: a-z, a-z, 0-9, -, _, @, . Once you have filled in everything, click Step 3.

Promotinal Strategies
These are the six questions you will use when promoting your products. Please answer yes or no.

• Do you run pay-per-click search ads?
• Do you use coupons as a promotional method?
• Do you use browser "add-ons", toolbars, or downloadable apps?
• Do you use an ad network, affiliate network (i.e. ASP)?
• Do you have a network of publishers that serve ads?
• Are you showing ads on sites that you don't own?

Once you have entered it, go to Step 4.

Now, here are some things to keep in mind when using ShareASale.

Then enter your email address. If you enter an email address from the same domain as the website you entered in Step 2, the speed to approval is fast.

In this way, it is a good idea to apply with an email address with the same domain name as the site.

First, you usually need to pay taxes in the United States if you live in the United States and have income from affiliates in the United States. However, if you are reading this article, you probably live in Japan.

If you live in Japan and have income by introducing affiliate projects in the United States, the story will be different again.
By filling out a certificate to reduce or exempt tax payments in the United States, you will not be subject to withholding tax in the United States.

To ensure that ShareASale is paying taxes properly, both U.S. citizens and non-U.S. citizens (i.e., us) are required to submit tax forms.
